Let's face it, learning takes place in many ways. When we're young we go to school to learn. Whether what we learn is helpful in the bigger picture is sometimes questionable. No doubt, it's good to have a good grasp of core subjects such as English and Maths, but children could benefit from subjects like how to budget, invent, innovate and think out of the square.
Life skills are so important......how to deal with stress. You are never too old to learn and with the availability of online courses these days it is not surprising that it is a booming business. With courses from learning craft lessons to how to get your book published, there is something for everyone.
For the individuals that aspire to be a coach there are coaching courses which are a great vehicle for self improvement and fulfillment. Many clients find themselves coaching others when they finish their own journey. There are great success stories like Tony Robbins who do a great job motivating people all around the world.
The need for coaches to inspire and motivate us certainly is in demand. They play a great part in planting the seeds of positive thinking and personal growth.
Our thoughts rule our actions.....our mind is like a computer, so keep filling it with positive things that keep us moving forward. Think happy positive thoughts to feed your soul and pay it forward.
Success comes to those who empower themself.
Take a look at your life and take responsibility. If there are things you don't like....change them. We all have our challenges.
Look at your relationships and cull those that disempower you, whether it be a partner that is controlling or others who bring you down.
The good news is we all have a choice. For those experiencing difficulties in an abusive relationship.......protect yourself. Seek out support. Unfortunately there are different aspects to controlling partners that when given the power......will try to sabotage the things you care are about most. Don't give them the opportunity. Control can be knowing your passwords to things like your computer, phone and bank accounts. Protect yourself.
Unfortunately, it doesn't always mean because someone is getting help.......that when they feel they are losing control.......they won't try to sabotage things you care about to give them control. The sooner anybody experiencing this in their life ......takes back their power the better their life will be.
It will take time but by placing one foot in front of the other and putting the building blocks in place for a constructive and empowering life that will give you the self esteem and abundance you deserve.
If you know somebody who is experiencing abuse and needs support.
Everybody has the right to learn, grow and prosper.
#1 Surround yourself with those that lift you and be very wary of those that are threatened by success. There are those who want to keep everybody on the same level as themselves. Don't let negative people disrupt your mojo. Distance yourself from these vampires of happiness and success.
#2 I believe the world is made up of givers and takers. A word of warning. Be careful of the takers because certain character types pick the empathetic, giving types so they can control and dominate them.
#3 Everybody has the right to grow and feel good about themselves.....male or female.
#4 Look to others you respect and learn from them. There are many generous people who are only too happy to help you on your journey. Be open to learning.
#5 Be kind to yourself, even when things don't go to plan. I am trying to do this myself. Sometimes things are out of your control. So accept it and move on.
#6 If you come to a bump in the road, just go around it. It might slow you down, but it won't stop you.
#7 Be optimistic. Everybody looks at life differently. It does help to focus on the positive. Creatives are builders, they construct, design, grow and nurture. This is what I like to focus on.
#8 Do you like people? People who like people also like to help people. This, to me is one of the most fundamental ingredients to success. If you possess this quality you are half way there. Connect with people and prosper.
Do you have a great idea? Just not sure where to begin.
I have listed some tips to help you.
1. Do you have a registered business? What is your business name? Check through ASIC or your government body to do a search to make sure no one else has the same name.
2. Do a business plan.
Use the S.M.A.R.T. principles. Here is a worksheet as a guide.
3. Do you have a trademark in place. Play around with ideas to design a logo or have a graphic designer do it for you. A simple design which captures the image you want to put out there for all to see and recognize that sums up your company and what it represents.
4. Check your trademark office to do a search so you don't end up with the same name as someone else and legal issues down the road.
5. You might want to look into whether the domain name is available. This is something I did even before registering my business name. It's good to get all your ducks in a row...so to speak.
6. Make sure your work out your niche and provide what people are looking for. There are many webinars available online to help you achieve this. This can improve your overall success instead of spreading yourself too broadly.
7. Look into angel investors or business partners to get the financial backing you need to grow your company.
8. Make sure you have a good marketing strategy in place and a budget to cover this. When starting out.....it's good to pace the injection of marketing funds to your earnings. This does not mean don't market but be smart how you market. There are great opportunities on social media such as facebook, twitter and instagram (great for designers).
WE LOVE TO SHARE OUR KNOWLEDGE! Write in to suggest a topic of interest you would like us to cover related to Business and Entrepreneurial pursuits. Leave your email and we will let you know when your topic will appear in our newsletter.
#1 First thing's first.....you need to know your direction. Have a business plan.
#2 Make sure your business can be found on Google.
#3 A great way to grow your business is through Social Media, like facebook, twitter, Pinterest and Google+. Instagram is popular for Social media these days and is very popular with designers.
#4 To grow your business .....it helps to have the professional advice. There are companies out there that can help with attracting leads and building your business. So building a network of business associates or partners is paramount to any business.
#5 Once things get moving, as you grow your leads and email list and your profit grows, you may have more in the kitty for Google adwords.
#6 There are many tutorials out there to make life easier for the up and coming entrepreneurs.
#7 LinkedIn is a must for your professional presence. It also offers courses as well to keep you up to date with your skills and education.
Sometimes staying on track is not as easy as we would like......but persistence, with the belief that with focus our goals WILL pay off!
With all the trials and don't forget....... experience.......we gain our wisdom. Many well known individuals with their awesome efforts to make it .......only did so through learning (from I hate to say the word failure). It's a crappy word isn't it. It gives all the worst connotations. But it's good to know you can always turn things around......by realizing failure is essential on the journey TO SUCCESS! This will teach us what not to do in the future and working out the formula for success. If we all knew the answers we would not evolve.
Keep focus on the stuff that matters like being kind to oneself even when we fail. Look after yourself with meditation, with a time for relaxation and mindfulness to recharge our batteries ready for another day. When we are rested our focus is better and WILL pay off if you are true to yourself.
Want success? Make a choice to hang with positive people that bring out the best in you. Spend time with people that exude positive energy.
Life isn't all perfect sailing. It's good to be there for a friend in need. But, at the end of day everybody has to work on protecting and nurturing their own spirit.......to be of use to anybody else.
If you do have friends or relatives in this situation.........make time for yourself to do the things you love to do. Unfortunately, it's all too easy for negativity to rub off and bring you down as well.
Surround yourself with friends that bring out the best in you. Ones that are into give and take that appreciate and listen to you. Personally, I cherish friends that are positive, fun-loving, youthful (in attitude), regardless of age and knowledgeable.
On this note, I'd like to mention ........Appreciate your mothers........and wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! So, spoil your mum today.
Too right, first impressions count.......it has been said many times. You want to get the job or impress someone.....first impressions tend to linger.
When attending an interview....dress appropriately for the position being applied for.
Pay attention to the little details.....tie in colours with stylish ties or handbag.
Classic style is timeless and often flattering....as they say less is more.....simple stylish quality goes a long way and classic jackets can be worn over more casual garments......but help bring up the look..... a notch or two.
Dress to impress! That's what I believe......sure we all have our own style......but it is helpful to project yourself as a winner or imagine how you want to be.
1. Write out your goals.
2. Visualise yourself achieving and feeling good about being in the role you see yourself in.
3. Look at your list everyday.
4. Meditate each and everyday. Use mindfulness techniques to improve the way you look at everyday things.
5. Exercise everday. Walking is essential for a healthy mind....especially with today's digital media.
6. Do something for yourself to pamper.....even little things like listen to some music you love on the way home from work.
7. Do a nice deed for someone else. Self esteem comes from feeling good about oneself.....what better way than doing something for someone else....to feel great!....it's a win win!
8. Learn to be honest with yourself.....it's not worth kidding yourself or blaming others.....in the end it will bite you in the bum......take responsibility!
9. Learn something new everday.....go on Ted....or read. Take a different route if you can spare the time.....it's great exercise for you brain.
10. Have a healthy diet and go to bed at a good time to allow at least 8 hours of sleep.
Trying new things, like even driving a different route to your everyday destinations - can be stimulating for your brain. There's nothing like shaking up the monotony and trying something new for some brain exercise.
